For Our Volunteers
Thank you to the many faculty and staff who volunteer each year for Commencement day, a celebration of student accomplishment and an occasion in which every member of the Buffalo State University community takes great pride.
Register
Many volunteers are needed to assist with a variety of duties including graduate lineup and processional, assist with guest seating, distribute programs, take tickets, etc. Your participation as a volunteer is important in providing a successful Commencement day for our graduates and their guests. We value your time and talents and welcome you to volunteer in one or more ceremonies.

Prepare
Rehearsal for volunteers: Thursday, May 15, 3:00-4:00 p.m. in the Sports Arena.
The volunteer's role on Commencement day is to assist graduates and their guests. Specific instructions and assignments will be provided during the rehearsal.
Attire
- Dress Pants, Dress Shirts, Dress Shoes.*
- Dresses
- Business casual is appropriate.
- No tank tops, spaghetti straps, or halter tops.
- Jeans are inappropriate.
*Shoes should be comfortable, however, no sneakers or sandals.

Reporting Location
The volunteer registration table is located on the upper floor (far right side) of the Ice Arena.
Reporting Times
- 9:00 a.m. School of the Professions Ceremony: Report no later than 7:30 a.m. (Doors for guests open at 8:00 a.m.)
- 1:00 p.m. School of Arts and Sciences Ceremony: Report no later than 11:30 a.m. (Doors for guests open at 12:00 p.m.)
- 5:00 p.m. School of Education Including Individualized and Multidisciplinary Studies Ceremony: Report no later than 3:30 p.m. (Doors open for guests at 4:00 p.m.)

Please be sure to sign-in and pick up your name tag at the volunteer registration table on the upper floor of the Ice Arena.*
Light refreshments are available throughout the day for your convenience.
