We look forward to you and your guests attending the ceremony and reception on Saturday, May 16, 2015. There is no fee to participate. Guest tickets are required for entrance into the ceremony in the Sports Arena to accommodate as many guests per graduate as possible, and each graduate must present a lineup ticket for the appropriate ceremony to be admitted into the Ice Arena.
Ceremony registration and guest ticket distribution begins with the Commencement Kickoff event on Wednesday, April 15 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the bookstore. See Bachelor's Tickets and Master's Tickets, below, for specifics.
Before you go, print out and complete either the Bachelor's Registration Card or the Master's/C.A.S. Registration Card. Be sure to have your ID with you to register (valid driver's license or Buffalo State ID.) If you had applied by the degree deadlines, your name will be on the eligibility list in the bookstore.
Commencement Kickoff is a one-day, one-stop source for all your graduation needs. You can you register for your ceremony, obtain guest tickets, purchase your cap and gown, AND, obtain job search and career information from the Career Development Center, purchase your college ring, obtain Alumni Association services and information about automatic alumni membership benefits, meet with the Graduate School, order your Commencement DVD, and more.

A bachelor's graduate will receive five guest tickets for either the 10 a.m. or 2 p.m. ceremony, your choice, whichever is available at the time of registration. Bring your completed Bachelor's Registration Card before you go...and remember your valid photo ID (driver's license or Buffalo State ID).
Additional tickets per graduate cannot be provided. See Excess Tickets below.
You may continue to purchase your regalia and graduation accessories in the bookstore during regular store hours following Commencement Kickoff.
Building capacity is based on individuals. All guests entering the Sports Arena must present a guest ticket, including babies and children, even if they will sit on adult laps. Please consider making alternate arrangements for youngsters, as they typically are unable to sit through the two-hour ceremony, especially after waiting for up to an hour in the stands prior to the start (doors open one hour before ceremony time).
Following the close of bachelor's ticket distribution, students may still register to participate in a ceremony, whichever has remaining capacity, though guest tickets are not distributed. Students still wishing to register to participate in a ceremony may obtain a student lineup ticket in the Events Management Office, Cleveland Hall 112.
See Bachelor's Viewing Options for guests without tickets.
Students who find at any point before Commencement that they will not use all their tickets, PLEASE return unneeded tickets to the Events Management Office, Cleveland Hall 112, prior to Commencement. Or share with another graduate who needs them. Or, on Commencement day, turn in any excess tickets at the Guest Services booth, located outside the Sports Arena, so that another graduate can use them. Thank you!
Participants who seek additional tickets on Commencement day should arrive early and inquire at the Guest Services booth where returned tickets will be redistributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Master's/C.A.S. graduates and candidates will each receive up to 10 guest tickets for the 6 p.m. ceremony. Bring your completed Master's/C.A.S. Registration Card before you go...and remember your valid photo ID (driver's license or Buffalo State ID).
Following Commencement Kickoff, master's/C.A.S. ceremony registration and ticket distribution continues in the bookstore during regular store hours through May 15. You may also continue to purchase your regalia and graduation accessories.
Friday, May 15 is the final day for master's/C.A.S. ceremony registration and guest ticket distribution.
Buffalo State makes every effort to include all degree candidates' names in the Commencement booklet. Those who apply for their degrees after the deadlines are not guaranteed listing in the booklet, though we sure will give it the old college try.
See Late Applicants for directions on registering for your ceremony if you did not receive the Commencement informational postcard at your permanent address during spring break (March 23–28, 2015).
